How quickly will my order arrive?
Your order will arrive within two to three weeks. Every piece is custom-made to your specifications, so most pieces are not complete and ready for shipment until at least a week after you have submitted your order. Once your piece has shipped, you will receive an email with a link allowing you to track the shipment.
How should I clean my acrylic art piece? Does it matter whether the piece is displayed indoors or outdoors?
For a piece displayed indoors, a light dusting with a soft cloth and no liquid or wax should be sufficient. For a piece displayed outdoors, use warm water and mild soap with a soft cloth to clean and buff-dry. Do not use household cleaners, such as those with ammonia or bleach. And use only soft cloths, since even sponges can leave small scratches on the acrylic.
How should I clean my brushed stainless steel art piece?
Stainless steel is extremely tough and withstands many types of cleaners, but it does not need much cleaning beyond an occasional rinse-and-dry. For light dirt or fingerprints, you can use mild soap or ammonia-based cleaners (like window cleaners). For very heavy dirt buildup, you can use a metal cleaner. But do not use cleaners containing chlorine or chloride, such as cleaners with bleach; although bleach will not ruin your stainless steel, it can dull the luster.
Will the acrylic become discolored when exposed to sunlight or rain?
The gloss and shape of acrylic are virtually unaffected by years of exposure to weather. After ten to thirty years of outdoor use, acrylic will acquire some discoloration, depending on the degree of exposure to sunlight. Acrylic endures temperatures ranging from 40 degrees to 180 degrees Fahrenheit. It is UV-stabilized and has a UL 95 flammability rating.
Acrylic is unaffected by salt air or water, but can scratch if dried salt from salt water is rubbed or scrubbed into the surface. Saltwater aquariums are often made of acrylic.
Will the brushed stainless steel become discolored when exposed to sunlight or rain?
Neither sun nor rain will affect stainless steel. Our brushed stainless steel is a 304 grade, which can be freely exposed to the elements. It will last forever, but can stain slightly and require occasional cleaning if it is exposed to saltwater or constantly moist salt air. For applications very close to bodies of saltwater, consider using 316 grade stainless steel (often referred to as “marine grade”). In that case, please contact us for a quote.
Is hardware included?
All artwork comes with stainless steel anchors for use with any kind of indoor and outdoor wall materials. A very thin but strong nylon line is attached to the back of all acrylic pieces for mounting on these anchors. For an additional charge, we will include standoff mounts, which allow you to mount the art up to three quarters of an inch off a wall. When used with a backer, these mounts also create space between the art and the backer. If you order standoff mounts with your art, we will drill appropriately spaced backer holes for you.
May I return my art for a full refund?
You may return your art, backer, and/or upgrade hardware within 365 days of purchase for a full refund...no questions asked. To return an item, please send it to Muro Bello at the address below via insured mail or UPS. Fill out the return information on the packing slip and include it in your package. We will gladly refund the purchase price. We do not refund shipping charges or reimburse for return shipping charges unless the item is defective.
What if my art is damaged when it arrives?
If your art was damaged or defective upon arrival, please return it within 30 days to be reimbursed for the shipping charges and insurance as well as to receive a full refund or replacement—your choice.
Do you ship to Alaska, Hawaii, and outside the United States?
We can ship to most locations outside the 48 contiguous United States, but need to give you a quote for shipping charges at the time of order. Please contact us at 704-557-0166 or orders@murobelloart.com before ordering online.
Do you ship to post office boxes?
Muro Bello cannot ship to post office boxes.
